The coffee pot we were using was an old piece of crap and I'd been looking at new ones, but a decent coffee pot at the store was around fifty bucks. So I thought this would be a good deal, right?
I ordered it on the 5th of February. I waited and waited, but it never showed up. Finally, on the 21st of February, I looked up my order confirmation and called the 800-number.
A very nice young man tried to look up my order and said that he couldn't find it in their system...
Hrumph. I was getting really tired of the percolater we'd been using since the Mr. Coffee stopped working and I'd been waiting impatiently for this to show up...
I guess some of my irritation was evident to him, because he made me another offer: "How about if I re-submit your order and reduce the charge to only $10.00?" He says. "And I'll throw in another mug, too."
So, this sounded good. I was going to re-order it anyway, I really wanted a new coffee pot. So I told the young man to go for it...
On the 27th of February I finally received my new coffee pot, two mugs, two half-pound boxes of coffee, a catalog and a 10-pack of filters.
Yee-Haw! The only problem now is that the ad said "Stainless Steel Travel Mug" and I received two ceramic mugs instead. I'm not going to complain, though, the mugs are good quality and it was the programmable coffee pot that I wanted, anyway.
Now, when I get up in the mornings, my coffee will be ready and waiting for me! No more stomping around, scowling and bitching at the kids while I wait for it to brew.
[Update: If you decide to check it out - remember that this picture was what they were giving away at the time I first got into it - the promotion is slightly different now. But - for what it's worth - I'm still getting their coffee (and they send free samples with every order, too) and we're still using the free coffeepot.]
Sorry about the poor picture quality - I'm still not used to this camera. I took about eight and this was the best one. (Here's a tip - if you're going to get a digital camera, don't shop on the price alone, get a good one.) - Abby.
