What is "RSS" and how to use it.
RSS stands for "Real Simple Syndication" or "Rich Site Summary" (depending on who you are talking to). With RSS, the newsletter comes to you, rather than you having to depend on your email (and wade through all the junk mail). This can save you a tremendous amount of time. RSS feeds are available here and at many websites for free.
Getting Started With RSS
To get started with RSS, you only need an RSS reader or RSS aggregator ~ programs that automatically collect all the RSS feeds you subscribe to and show them in one place. There are hundreds of aggregators (I use RSSReader) and if you use Yahoo or Google homepages you can get an RSS feed there. To find a free RSS reader, just google for "Free RSS reader" and take your pick.
Finding good RSS feeds
Finding feeds is simple ~ fact is, you already have access to them. Go to almost any site and there should be a "subscribe to feed" option available... just look for the little buttons like those below, and click on them.
Subscribing to RSS feeds
Once you find a feed button, just click it. Some aggregators will automatically add the feed right then ~ if not, just copy the website URL in the address bar of the feed page and add it to your feed reader list. Each aggregator is different, so you may need to take a few minutes to figure out how to use yours. See your feed readers documentation or Help File for instructions if you're unsure.
