How we got the 'Dollz'
Aren't they cute?
Hey, I just wanted to take the opportunity to say thanks to some of the people and websites that have made so many Dollz resources available for free - without them, I wouldn't have been able to figure out where to get all the bits-n-pieces of Dollz and the props that go with them... or what to do with them once I did.
So let's all give a big round of applause to SparklieDollz, DollsMania.com and
minkle.phenominet.com .... there were others that have disappeared since then, but these will get you started if you want to make some of your own.... and here are some links that readers sent in: Dells Dollz and A long List of other dollmakers.
It's actually pretty easy, once you've done a few... just decide what you want to end up with and start putting the pieces together...
The websites listed above have these "Dollmakers" where you just drag-n-drop the pieces you want, then save your finished doll. Easy.

And you don't have to limit yourself to the rather mundane appearance that I've chosen for the "Abby Dollz" that you see here... nope, you can get all kinds of different body and hair styles, just about any colors, too, with a little looking around.
And if you're half-proficient with an image editing program, ( Like me - about half ) then you can do some of your own image editing and make some really unique stuff... like the dolls on the left here: the animated butterfly is cool - and the other one is winking, (but you really have to be watching closely to see that happen.) ... and the centaur doll was a little challenging, but fun..

There are even contests where you could enter your creations to be judged on an assortment of merits, and others that are seasonally-themed...
And, in case you're wondering, Yes, I chose this appearance for the "Abby Dollz" because it does kinda look like me... (about [edited] years ago before my butt got so big.)
It's all kinda fun, making these, but right now I need to go feed the kids... teenagers are always hungry! See Ya! -Abby
