What is Adware?
Adware is most often content that has been added to another program, (like a screensaver) and it is generally considered to go beyond the "reasonable" advertising that you might expect from common free software. The main complaint about it is that adware will usually continue to generate advertising even when you are not running the original program.

What is Spyware?
Spyware is so named due to the practice of secretly gathering user information through your Internet connection without your knowledge or consent. (Most often this is done for advertising purposes) Spyware applications are typically installed as a hidden component of unethical software programs. Once installed, the spyware monitors your activity on the Internet and sends that information (without telling you) to someone else.
